WILDER: Well, first of all, it’s divisive and certainly uncalled for.

I don’t think the Obama administration needs that at this time. And as you know, I’ve not been the most strong supporter of Joe Biden. And yet, we all know he’s gaffe-prone. But when you make a statement that says they are going to put ya’ll back in chains, which means I’m OK, not going to happen to me, and they…

CAVUTO: Well, that’s interesting, yes, yes.

WILDER: We will work through it, but you all will be in chains.

It's divisive to acknowledge that it was largely black people who were enslaved in the history of the United States.

Oh, wait. It was slavery that was divisive. Never mind.

But reminding people of that is racist....

Isn't this the same network that has people jo Reke about waterboarding? Really this reeks of selective outrage.

I think that's pretty much all we need to know about Wilder.

The movement towards strict literal interpretation of everything is making it impossible to use an abstract form of expression known among the intelectual community as metaphor. Granted I have not seen a clip of this event nor a description of the setting it was given in, but Biden very clearly uses chains as a metaphor that we will ALL be severely limited as we have at many times in the past, not that descendents of slaves will be made slaves again. Come on people use your noodle for something constructive (and I'm not referring to macaroni).
